lemon rice (lime rice)
ingredients
- Rice - 1/2 cup
- Lime -1 big
- Green chillies - 2
- Mustard - 1/2 tsp.
- Blackgram dhal - 1/2 tsp.
- Red chillies - 1
- Fenugreek - 1/2 tsp.
- Bengalgram dhal - 1/2 tsp.
- Asafoetida - a bit.
- Cahewnut -5
method of preparation
- Cook rice and spread on a plate. Let it cool.
- Sprinkle a pinch of turmeric powder and a tsp. of gingelly oil.
- Fry fenugreek without adding oil. Fry red chilly with little oil.
- Powder chillies with fenugreek and sprinkle over rice.
- In a little oil, fry mustard seeds, blackgram dhal, bengalgram dhal, green chillies, cashewnuts and add.
- Mix the rice well salt and lime juice.
- Garnish with curry and coriander leaves.
- Instead of cashewnuts, groundnuts (pea nuts) can also be used.
