lemon rice (lime rice)

ingredients

  • Rice - 1/2 cup
  • Lime -1 big
  • Green chillies - 2
  • Mustard - 1/2 tsp.
  • Blackgram dhal - 1/2 tsp.
  • Red chillies - 1
  • Fenugreek - 1/2 tsp.
  • Bengalgram dhal - 1/2 tsp.
  • Asafoetida - a bit.
  • Cahewnut -5

method of preparation

  • Cook rice and spread on a plate. Let it cool.
  • Sprinkle a pinch of turmeric powder and a tsp. of gingelly oil.
  • Fry fenugreek without adding oil. Fry red chilly with little oil.
  • Powder chillies with fenugreek and sprinkle over rice.
  • In a little oil, fry mustard seeds, blackgram dhal, bengalgram dhal, green chillies, cashewnuts and add.
  • Mix the rice well salt and lime juice.
  • Garnish with curry and coriander leaves.
  • Instead of cashewnuts, groundnuts (pea nuts) can also be used.
