mango pachadi (sweet)


  • Mango -1 medium size
  • Jaggery - 1/4 cup
  • Mustard - 1/2 tsp.
  • Blackgram dhal - 1/2 tsp.
  • Cilly powder - 1/4 tsp.
  • Tamarind - a marble size

method of preparation

  • Peel out the mango and cut into long thin pieces.
  • Cook it in about 100ml. of tamarind juice and chilly pwder.
  • When it is cooked well, add the jaggery .
  • Simmer well until the jaggery flavour is lost.
  • Add a pinch of salt.
  • Season with mustard blackgram dhal.
  • Mix a teasapoon of rice lfour with a little water and add.
  • Remove from the fire .
  • Curd may also be added, if necessary.
  • If the mango is too sour, do not add the tamarind juice.
  • Cook the mango pieces in the plain water.
  • Ripe mango can also be used to prepare apchadi, in the same method.
