mint / coriander chutney

These varieties of chutney is very tasty and it can be served with idli , dosa , vada, pongal,uppuma and other tiffin varieties.

mint 0r pudina / coriander leaves chutney -1

INGREDIENTS

  • Coriander leaves/mint - a small bundle
  • Green chillies - 2
  • Grated coconut - 4 tbl. sp.
  • Salt - to taste

METHOD OF PREPARATION

  • Pluck the mint leaves grom the stem and wash well. Drain.
  • Fry the leaves with chillies and grind with coconut and salt.
  • Add a little lime juice, if necessary.

  • Grind coriander chutney in the same way. Serve with bujji or vada.

ingredients

  • Onion - 2 medium size
  • Tomato - 1 medium size
  • Green chillies - 2
  • Mint / Coriander leaves - a handful
  • Ginger - a small bit
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tbl. sp.
  • Blackgram dhal - 1/2 tsp.

 

method of preparation

  • In a lilltle oil fry onion, ginger, green chillies in a pan.
  • Then add the tomato and then fry for 2 minutes.
  • Then add the mint leaves and fry for a while.
  • Grind this mixture. In a frying pan, fry mustard and blackgram dhal and add to this mixture. Garnish with curry leaves.
  • Make coriander leaves chutney by adding coriander leaves instead of mint leaves.
