Vadai curry

 

INGREDIENTS

  • Masala vadai - 8
  • Onion - 1 big
  • Tomato - 1 medium size
  • Cloves - 2
  • Cinnamon - 2
  • Curry and coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch

For masala

  • Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
  • Ginger - a small bit
  • Garlic - 6 cloves
  • Sombu - 1/2 tsp.
  • Green chillies - 2

Grind these ingredients using mixi and keep aside.

method of preparation

Make a masala vadai and keep aside. Heat 4 tsp. of oil and fry cloves, cinnamon, Onion and curry leaves. After get reddish add tomato bits and fry well. Now add the ground masala and fry for 10 minutes in simmer. Pour 1/2 litre of water and put a pinch of turmeric powder. Add salt to it and boil for 10 minutes in simmer. Cut masala vadai into small bits. After it gets thickened add the bits of masala vadai and stir well. Keep boiling for 2 - 3 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves.

This can be servd as a side dish for idli, dosa and rice.
