colacasia roast - 1 (seppankizhangu roast)
ingredients
- Colacasia - 1/4 kg
- Oil - 2 tsp
- Mustard - 1/2 tsp.
- Bengalgram dhal - 1/2 tsp.
- Blackgram dhal - 1/2 tsp.
- Salt - to taste
- Sambar powder - 1/2 tsp.
- Plain chilli powder - 1/2 tsp.
- Turmeric powder - a pinch
- Tamarind - Half lemon size

method of preparation
- Cook colacasia in a pressure cooker and peel the skin.
- Cut into small bits. Soak tamarind in a little water and get 2 tsp of tamarind water.
- Add to the colacasia bits and keep for 10 minutes. Heat Oil. Fry mustard and dhals.
- When they become brown, add colacasia, salt, turmeric powder, sambar powder and chilli powder.
- Roast till golden colour.
- Add little oil in the course, if necessary. Garam masala powder may also be added to the roast.
- Add curry and coriander leaves, if necessary.

- Colacasia -1/4 kg
- Sambar powder - 1/2 tsp.
- Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp.
- Corn flour - 1/2 tsp.
- Sombu powder - 1/4 tsp.
- Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp.
- Turmeric powder - a pinch
- Salt - to taste
- Tamarind water - 2 tbl. sp.
method of preparation
- Cook colacasia in the pressure cooker and peel the skin.
- Cut into long thin pieces.
- In a tamarind water add all the given ingredients and mix well.Add water if necessary.
- Then add the colacasia into this mixture and keep aside for 15 minutes.
- Take a dosa pan and pour 2 tsp of oil and heat.
- Put the colacasia pieces one by one in the pan seperately.
- And pour 1/2 tsp of oil. Cook for 5 minutes in simmer.
- Then turn all pieces using dosa ladle and cook for 5 minutes till both sides get golden brown.
- Like this way cook all the pieces seperately.
- This roast is the right combination of sambar, rasam etc. Children will like this preparation very much.
