ingredients

  • Colacasia - 1/4 kg
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Mustard - 1/2 tsp.
  • Bengalgram dhal - 1/2 tsp.
  • Blackgram dhal - 1/2 tsp.
  • Salt - to taste
  • Sambar powder - 1/2 tsp.
  • Plain chilli powder - 1/2 tsp.
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Tamarind - Half lemon size

method of preparation

  • Cook colacasia in a pressure cooker and peel the skin.
  • Cut into small bits. Soak tamarind in a little water and get 2 tsp of tamarind water.
  • Add to the colacasia bits and keep for 10 minutes. Heat Oil. Fry mustard and dhals.
  • When they become brown, add colacasia, salt, turmeric powder, sambar powder and chilli powder.
  • Roast till golden colour.
  • Add little oil in the course, if necessary. Garam masala powder may also be added to the roast.
  • Add curry and coriander leaves, if necessary.

ingredients

  • Colacasia -1/4 kg
  • Sambar powder - 1/2 tsp.
  • Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp.
  • Corn flour - 1/2 tsp.
  • Sombu powder - 1/4 tsp.
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp.
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Salt - to taste
  • Tamarind water - 2 tbl. sp.

method of preparation

  • Cook colacasia in the pressure cooker and peel the skin.
  • Cut into long thin pieces.
  • In a tamarind water add all the given ingredients and mix well.Add water if necessary.
  • Then add the colacasia into this mixture and keep aside for 15 minutes.
  • Take a dosa pan and pour 2 tsp of oil and heat.
  • Put the colacasia pieces one by one in the pan seperately.
  • And pour 1/2 tsp of oil. Cook for 5 minutes in simmer.
  • Then turn all pieces using dosa ladle and cook for 5 minutes till both sides get golden brown.
  • Like this way cook all the pieces seperately.
  • This roast is the right combination of sambar, rasam etc. Children will like this preparation very much.
