curry leaf kuzhambu (karivepilai)
INGREDIENTS
- Tamarind - 12 small lime size
- Red chillies - 5
- Blackgram dhal - 1 and a half tsp.
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp.
- Salt - 2 tsp.
- Asafoetida - a bit
- Curry leaves - 2-3 table spoons
METHOD OF PREPARATION
- In a little oil fry blackgram, asafoetida and red chillies.
- Grind them with curry leaves, salt and tamarind to a smooth paste.
- Dissolve this paste in half litre of water and simmer for 15-20 minutes till it gets littles thickened.
- Season with mustard seeds.
