INGREDIENTS

  • Raw rice flour - 1 cup
  • Ghee - 2 tsp.
  • Onion - 1 big size
  • Green chillies - 3
  • Grated coconut - 4 tsp.
  • Coconut bits - 2 tsp.
  • Bengalgram - 2tsp.
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp.
  • Curry leaves.
  • Salt - to taste.

METHOD OF PREPARATIOn

  • Take 1 cup of raw rice flour and add 1/2 cup of hot boiling water and salt.
  • Stir well to avoid lumps.
  • In a pan pour 4 tsp. of oil and add mustard seeds, bengalgram.
  • After the bengalgram gets fried add finely chopped onion, green chillies and curry leraves to it.
  • Fry for 5 minutes.
  • Now add this to the rice flour and stir well.
  • Roll into balls of oval shape and cook in an idli cooker.
  • Red chillies also be added if necessary.
  • Brown rice flour can also be used to prepare kozhukattai.
