rava dosa (samolina dosa)

INGREDIENTS

  • Rava (samolina) - 1 cup
  • Rice flour - 1/2 cup
  • Slightly soured buttermilk - 2 tbl. sp.
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp.
  • Salt - 1 and a half tsp.
  • Green chillies - 1
  • Onion - 1 medium size
  • Water - 1 cup.

METHOD OF PREPARATION

  • Mix rice flour and rava with salt, cumin seeds, butter milk, chopped green chillies, chopped onion, and water.
  • Make thick batter to the correct consistency.
  • Now smear a dosai pan with oil. Pour the batter into small circles. (Don't press with the ladle as said for the rice dosai).
  • Pour 1/2 tsp. of oil around.
  • When the lower side is cooked to a golden brown, take off the dosai and toss and cook the other side.
  • Add 1/2 tsp. of oil. Cook until crisp.
  • Serve hot with chutney, sambhar or podi.
